Inclusive Design Prototyping Kit

The idea of a prototyping kit is inspired by classroom work in Geography 434, The Geographies of Health and Health Care. This class has used simple prototyping materials to respond to real life health equity challenges. One assignment involved creating a better doctor’s waiting room. Students responded well to the working collaboratively through the steps of brainstorming and collaboratively designing solutions aimed at creating more just health systems.

The prototyping kit will include materials that develop from our Inclusive Sandbox practices, including co-designed principles, our provocations, and community reactions to provocations. It will also include some basic supplies. Those interested in participating can use the kit on their own and share out their ideas through our website. They can also participate through collaborating with others in our upcoming online workshops that will focus on promoting psychological and emotional inclusiveness at SFSU.
